How to Measure Yourself for a Dress:



Bust Size

• Stand with your heels together and your arms resting by your sides. Have a friend wrap the measuring tape around the widest part of your back and the fullest part of your bust. Record the measurement as your bust measurement. Pls wear a comfortable fitting bra when you measure your bra size

Waist Measurement:

• Wrap the tape measure around your waistline to determine your waist size. Your waistline is the thinnest point on your waist, just above your hip bones. you can bend to one side to find your natural waist, put this number down as your waist measurement

Hips Measurement:

• Take your hip measurement at the fullest point of your hips. The tape measure should fall over your backside when measuring your hips. This area is approximately 7 to 9 inches below your waist, depending on your height. Keeping a thumb beneath the tape, record this number as the hip measurement

Dress Length:

• Usually we call this number Hollow to hem. Stand straight and measure from the hollow of your neck to the place where you want the hem of the dress to be. Record the length as your hollow to hem measurement. If your dress comes to the knee, your hollow to hem would be from the neck to your knee. If you are creating a floor length gown, your hollow to hem would be measured from your neck to the floor. Pls note that you should include your heel if you will wear high heel on the prom
